In preparation for the much-awaited match between these two Asian cricketing gaints, the Indian cricket team is working hard ahead of their fourth World Cup 2023 match against Bangladesh in Pune on October 19.
India is gearing up for their forthcoming match against Bangladesh set for October 19, a Thursday, at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. They are entering into this game as the favorites and are looking to add two more points to their score. The Indian squad, captained by Rohit Sharma, has had a wonderful run in the competition, securing three consecutive wins against Australia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, with winning margins of six, eight, and seven wickets, respectively.
Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, has been in fantastic form throughout the tournament and is one of the leading run-scorers. He has amassed 217 runs in three innings, featuring one century and a half-century. Rohit has already smashed a few records, making him the center of attention as the IND vs BAN showdown approaches on Thursday. However, before the game, Rohit Sharma astonished everyone by taking on a different role. He was spotted practicing his bowling abilities in the nets, which undoubtedly drew the viewers’ notice. Early in his career, Rohit used to bowl a few overs of off-spin and even had an IPL hat-trick to his name.
India has been having a struggle due to the lack of a part-time spinner, as none of the top six hitters can assist with the ball during a match. This has created a gap in the team’s plan. Rohit, who had momentarily stopped bowling owing to injury worries, may present a valuable alternative if he can contribute with some overs in the middle. This would be a big benefit for India, especially on pitches that favor spinners. Other batsmen including Glenn Maxwell, Aiden Markram, Glenn Philips, and Iftikhar Ahmed have successfully contributed as spin bowlers in the tournament so far.

Before the tournament, Rohit Sharma shared that he has refrained from bowling due to a finger injury, but he also expressed his intent to return to bowling during practice sessions. Speaking to journalist Vimal Kumar’s YouTube channel, Rohit said, “I have problems with my finger while bowling. I don’t want my batting affected because of it. I am bowling in the nets, and let’s see.”
