In a momentous event at Manuka Oval, South Africa’s women’s cricket team achieved a sensational six-wicket triumph over Australia, marking their inaugural victory against the cricket powerhouse in women’s internationals. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Australia Women faced a commendable performance from South Africa Women’s bowlers, who held the hosts to a total of 142/6. Undeterred, the visitors successfully chased down the target in 19 overs, etching their name in history.
Australia’s batting lineup, led by the dynamic Grace Harris, displayed a diverse set of skills. Harris contributed 31 runs off 18 balls, featuring three fours and a six, while Alyssa Healy and Tahlia McGrath added 29 and 23 runs, respectively.
