Harmanpreet Kaur is all set to face the wrath of the ICC for her misbehaving during the third ODI against Bangladesh Women on Saturday.
As per the reports, Harmanpreet is set to be fined 75 percent of her match fees and three demerit points to her name for hitting the stumps with her bat in an awful manner, as she was not happy with the on-field decision of LBW given to her.
During the presentation, the Indian skipper blasted publicly about the umpiring that happened throughout the series and said that she was not happy with the umpires. As per the Cricbuzz reports, she is also to face three demerit points alongside her match fee penalty.
“For the on-field incident (smashing the wicket) she will be fined 50 percent of her match fee while for the way she represented herself in the presentation ceremony, she will be fined 25 percent of her match fee,” the match official was quoted as saying in the report.
If one more demerit point she gets within the next 12 months then India captain Harmanpreet Kaur could face a ban of one Test match or two white-ball games.
After she was given out, Harmanpreet smashed the stumps in anger before getting involved in a heated argument with the umpire (Tanvir Ahmed) while walking off the field.
“They [Bangladesh] batted really well, batted according to the situation. They were taking those singles which were very crucial. In between we leaked a few runs but when we were batting, we controlled the game very well but as I mentioned earlier some pathetic umpiring was done and we are really disappointed about some decisions given by the umpires.” Harmanpreet Kaur said during the post-match presentation.
“A lot of learning from this game. Even apart from the cricket, the type of umpiring that was happening there, we were very surprised. The next time whenever we are coming to Bangladesh, we’ll have to make sure we have to deal with this kind of umpiring and accordingly, we’ll have to prepare ourselves,” Harmanpreet concluded.
The media in Bangladesh accused Kaur of disrespecting the game and the captain of the Bangladesh team, Nigar Sultana Joty, before taking group photographs.
What did Bangladesh Women Skipper say about Harman’s Behavior?
“It is totally her problem. I have nothing to do with it. As a player, she could have shown better manners. I can’t tell you what happened, but it didn’t feel right to be there [for the photograph] with my team. It wasn’t the right environment. That’s why we went back. Cricket is a game of discipline and respect,” Nigar Sultana said
