The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled the schedule for the upcoming series between India Women and South Africa Women. After nearly ten years, India will welcome the South African women’s cricket team for a series featuring multiple formats, including a Test match. The matches are set to take place from June 16 to July 9.
India and South Africa are gearing up for an exciting cricket face-off, kicking off with a warm-up match on June 14th, followed by a three-match ODI series starting June 16th at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. These clashes are not just about pride; they’re part of the 2022–2025 ICC Women’s Championship, with both teams eyeing direct qualification for the 2025 ODI World Cup in India. South Africa sits comfortably in second place, while India has already secured a direct spot.
After the ODI showdown, the action shifts to a historic one-off Test match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, running from June 28th to July 1st. Chennai hasn’t hosted a women’s Test match in quite some time, making this event even more special.
Following the Test match, attention turns to the T20 format, with a three-match series against South Africa. The first T20 game is set for July 5th, followed by matches on the 7th and 9th, all at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Before the series officially begins, there’s a one-day warm-up match on June 13th at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where South Africa will face off against the Board President’s XI.
The ODIs will start at 1:30 PM, while the T20Is will light up the evening, kicking off at 7 PM.
