The England Women’s teams have just announced their lineups for the upcoming tour of India. The squads comprise players for the Test, T20, and an England A squad specifically designated for the Oman training camp.
The England Women’s squads for their upcoming tour of India have been revealed, featuring lineups for the Test, T20, and England A teams. Despite undergoing shoulder surgery in September, Sophie Ecclestone finds a spot in both the Test and T20 squads as she works on her recovery for the India series. The teams will start their training camp in Oman before heading to India.
Excitingly, Bess Heath, the wicketkeeper-batter, secures her position in both squads after making her senior debut for England in the One Day International against Sri Lanka last September. The versatile all-rounder, Alice Capsey, is also on the verge of earning her first Test cap. England is gearing up for a series of three IT20s at Wankhede Stadium and a four-day Test clash at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai next month, marking their return to India for the first time since 2019.
In the meantime, England Women A has announced a strong 21-player squad that will undergo training in Oman from November 12th to 25th, preparing for their upcoming trio of IT20 matches against India A. Notably, Tash Farrant, who underwent lumbar spine surgery due to a stress fracture in June, is part of the squad, focusing on her comeback to competitive bowling. Alongside her are promising bowlers Mahika Gaur and Lauren Filer, who left a mark during the past summer’s cricket season.
Heather Knight’s team is gearing up for a training camp in Oman, set to kick off on November 17th and run through December 2nd. This leads up to their first-ever IT20 match at Wankhede Stadium. A focused squad of 14 players will be selected for the IT20 games against India A, while the rest will continue their training with the England Women’s team in Oman. Head Coach Jon Lewis shared his insights on the challenges of competing in Indian conditions and the upcoming World Cups, highlighting the team’s preparations and aspirations.

“We have a nice blend of youth and experience. It’s an exciting squad and a group that is ready to take on the challenge of what will be a really tough series in India. We haven’t toured India for a number of years. We have players who have experienced playing in the Women’s Premier League but many haven’t played international cricket there before. Playing in Indian conditions is great preparation for our next two World Cups in the subcontinent and will be an amazing learning opportunity for both the players and the staff,” said England head coach Jon Lewis in a statement.
