Yashasvi Jaiswal, the young Indian opener, has dazzled on the global platform, smashing yet another century with his exceptional talent in the ongoing IND vs ENG series.
Yashasvi Jaiswal notched up a century in 122 balls, marking his second score of 100 or more in the series, following his double century in the second Test. Despite a modest 10-run contribution in the first innings, the left-handed opener showcased composure this time around.
Jaiswal’s prowess in the Test format is proving beneficial for captain Rohit Sharma and the team. His left-hand advantage and aggressive approach from the outset relieve pressure on Rohit, allowing him the freedom to play his shots and secure a solid opening partnership for India.
Day 3 started unfavorably for England, losing two quick wickets within 18 runs, courtesy of Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav dismissing Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow. Kuldeep also claimed the crucial wicket of Ben Duckett at 153 runs, caught by Shubman Gill. Ben Stokes provided some stability with a 40-odd run contribution.
Mohammed Siraj then dismantled the England lower order, securing a four-wicket haul, while Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each. Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin contributed with one wicket apiece.
India’s batting innings began decently, with openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal posting 30 runs for the first wicket. However, Rohit, the top run-scorer in the first innings, fell to Joe Root for 19 runs from 28 balls. Subsequently, Jaiswal and Shubman Gill have steadied the Indian innings and are currently holding fort at the crease.
