Team India has unveiled their jersey for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 which is set to take place in the USA and West Indies.
With the T20 World Cup just around the corner, cricket fans are buzzing with excitement as the tournament draws near. This year, it’s being co-hosted by the West Indies and the US, promising a thrilling cricket extravaganza. The BCCI has already rolled out Team India’s 15-member squad, which came with a few unexpected picks that got everyone talking.
But that’s not all fans are eagerly awaiting. The official T20 World Cup jersey reveal is always a big moment for supporters. Adidas, the official kit sponsor for BCCI, has been teasing fans with what to expect. In the past, we’ve seen jerseys that reflect India’s rich heritage, from the tiger stripes for ODIs to the symbolic Ashoka Chakra for T20Is, both adorned with those iconic shoulder stripes.
Now, with less than a month left, the curtain has been lifted on India’s jersey for the upcoming tournament. True to tradition, it’s a vibrant blue with saffron sleeves, sporting those classic white Adidas stripes on the shoulders. Last year’s ODI World Cup jersey featured the tri-color stripes on the shoulder, a nod to national pride.
One notable change this time around is the absence of the sponsor’s name, ‘Dream11’, on the front. ICC rules dictate that teams can’t display sponsor names during the competition, so the jersey gets a sleek makeover for the big event.
In Group A, India finds themselves pitted against rivals Pakistan, co-hosts USA, as well as Ireland and Canada. The Men in Blue will be taking the field across the US, with New York hosting the first three games and Lauderhilḷ hosting the final group showdown.
The jersey unveiling ceremony was a picturesque affair, set against the stunning backdrop of the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. Captured in the moment were skipper Rohit Sharma, along with Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja, adding to the excitement as fans gear up for what promises to be an unforgettable tournament.
Last week, India unveiled its squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Rohit Sharma will helm the squad, with Hardik Pandya serving as his second-in-command. The team’s journey kicks off on June 5 against Ireland, followed by a highly anticipated clash with Pakistan on June 9. Next up, they face off against the USA on June 12 before rounding up their group-stage battles against Canada on June 15.
