The ICC just unveiled the lineup of 26 match officials set to oversee the opening round of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will be held in the United States of America (USA) and the West Indies.
The ICC has just dropped the lineup of umpires and match referees for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024, set to sizzle across the West Indies and the USA this June. Brace yourselves for a thrilling month-long cricket fest with 55 electrifying matches featuring 20 powerhouse nations.
Each squad will lock horns in four group battles, eyeing those coveted top two spots to march ahead into the Super-8 stage. Circle your calendars for the semifinals on June 26 and 27, leading up to the ultimate showdown on June 29 in Barbados.
The tournament will set the stage on fire with the USA battling it out against Canada at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas on June 1, kicking off the cricket extravaganza. Hosts West Indies will set sail against Papua New Guinea at the Guyana National Stadium in Guyana on June 2, igniting their World Cup campaign.
Leading the charge of elite umpires are the familiar faces of Richard Illingworth, Kumar Dharmasena, Chris Gaffaney, and Paul Reiffel, who mesmerized fans in the Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 Final. Adding to the charm is Richard Kettleborough, the stalwart who officiated in the ODI World Cup 2023 final.
Guiding the matches with finesse will be the seasoned match referees, including Ranjan Madugalle, who took charge in 2022 Final, and the legendary Jeff Crowe, a maestro in T20 refereeing. Joining them is Andrew Pycroft, boasting an impressive record of 149 T20Is officiated.

“Within the selected cohort, we have a compliment of experienced match officials and other high performing members who have been recognized for their strong and consistent performances. The throughput from the pathway programme will continue to see the development and emergence of high-quality match officials across the game.
“With 20 teams and 55 matches played over 28 days, this will be the biggest T20 World Cup ever and we are proud of the team we have assembled. We are confident that our officials will perform strongly. We wish them all the best of luck for what promises to be a very exciting tournament.”
