With this triumph, India currently occupies the top rank for the most wins in the T20I format, notching up their 136th victory, surpassing neighboring Pakistan. Although India tied Pakistan’s 135-win mark in Thiruvananthapuram, Maxwell’s knock in Guwahati prevented them from taking the lead. Currently, India tops the ICC T20I rankings, reflecting their strong form in the format.
In the domain of T20I cricket, only India, Pakistan, and New Zealand have achieved the 100-win mark. India leads with 136 victories in 213 T20I games, followed by Pakistan with 135 wins in 226 games, and New Zealand with 102 wins out of 200 matches. Australia and South Africa are also just five wins away from surpassing the century milestone in T20I victories.
India’s supremacy extends to their home stadium, where they have been a strong force in bilateral matches, recording 53 wins out of 82 T20I games. New Zealand trails behind with 44 wins in 83 T20I games at home. Out of India’s 136 victories, 83 have been achieved playing overseas.
