India-A defeated Pakistan-A by 8 wickets in a one-sided contest in the ongoing Emerging Asia Cup. Indian Team has yet to lose a match and will look for another victory against Bangladesh-A in the Semi-final to fix their spot in the Finals.
India-A completely outperformed Pakistan-A since the beginning of the match. All the credit will be given to the Indian bowlers who bowled their best in the game and never let Pakistan make a comeback. Both India-A and Pakistan-A had come into this match after winning their previous matches against Nepal-A and UAE-A respectively and this was the much-awaited encounter between these two rivals.
Pakistan Captain Mohammad Haris won the toss and chose to bat first. But the Indian bowlers kept building the pressure on their batters from the start of their innings. They kept bowling in the right areas till Pakistan Team bowled out for 205 runs. Pakistan Team never got the start they aimed for.
Saim Ayub and Omair Yousuf scored ducks, while Sahibzada Farhan made 35 runs.
Qasim Akram saved some face for his team with a knock of 48 while Mubasir Khan (28) and Mehran Mumtaz (25*) took Pakistan A past the 200-run mark.
Indian Bowlers were breathing fire in the match especially Rajvardhan Hangargekar who bowled a terrific spell, right from the start of the match, from bowling in the right areas to having a bit of swing to offer. He clinched 5 wickets in his 8 overs spell. He became the first Indian bowler to take a fifer in the Emerging Asia Cup. His team-mate Jagdusakumar Suthar supported him from the other end and scalped 3 wickets. Riyan Parag and Sindhu got a piece of wicket each.
Indian fielders were no less than Spiderman on the ground. Saving runs, diving, and catching were all brilliant from India-A players.
In reply to Pakistan’s 206-run chase, Abhishek Sharma and Sai Sudharsan provided India a terrific start, they both added 58 run partnership for the first. Abhishek Sharma got out for 20 runs. But then Sai Sudharsan and Nikin Jose (53) added 99 runs for the second wicket. Sudharsan (104*) played a brilliant knock under some pressure from Pakistani spinners. He hammered every bowler in every direction possible and made them feel hopeless for a single wicket. This was the 4th century for Sai Sudharsan in List-A cricket.
He remained unbeaten and to get to his century, hit Shahnawaz Dahani for two consecutive sixes in the 37th over and also took his team to victory with 8 wickets in hand and 80 balls remaining.
He is being sensational throughout this year and hitting centuries and half-centuries in every second match he is playing. He was also Phenomenal throughout the IPL and TNPL tournaments that he played and made 362 in 8 innings and 371 in 6 innings in both tournaments respectively. He is an outstanding player to look out for, who is going to perform and deliver his best for the Indian Team.
