Rinku Singh is making a mark as a rising star for the Indian cricket team, showcasing his stellar performances that lead to victories. The left-handed batter delivered an impressive cameo during the second T20I against Australia in Thiruvananthapuram.
In a spectacular display in Thiruvananthapuram, Rinku showcased his prowess by smashing 32 runs in just nine balls, featuring four boundaries and two massive sixes. Suryakumar Yadav, the stand-in captain for India, couldn’t help but be impressed by Rinku Singh’s remarkable show in international cricket. Despite having only four T20I innings under his belt, Rinku earned high praise from Yadav. While discussing Rinku’s performance, Suryakumar drew a parallel with the legendary MS Dhoni, emphasizing the similarities in their game, especially in the art of finishing matches.
Suryakumar Yadav said, “When I saw Rinku come in to bat in the last game, the composure he showed was brilliant. It reminded me of someone. Everyone knows the answer.” Surya clearly gave a hint of Rinku’s comparison with former Indian captain and one of the finest finishers in world cricket, MS Dhoni.
Rinku Singh appears remarkably serene and collected on the field, even in challenging situations. He attributes his calm demeanor to the valuable experience he has gained batting in the lower order. He said, “I bat in this number a lot. So, I am calm knowing this position. I know sometimes I will get 5-6 overs (to bat) or sometimes two overs. That’s exactly how I practice as if I am batting in the last five.”
Rinku Singh, the left-handed batter, has showcased an impressive performance in his four T20 International innings across seven games. Remarkably, he has been dismissed only once, maintaining an unbeaten record in three innings, with scores exceeding 20 runs each time. Throughout these innings, he has maintained a striking strike rate of 216. In total, Rinku has accumulated 128 runs in just 59 balls.
