Star Indian batsman Virat Kohli has opted to step back from the ongoing Test series between India and England to spend quality time with his family.

The former captain of the Indian cricket team Virat Kohli recently celebrated the arrival of his second child, ‘Akaay,’ born on February 15, with his Bollywood actor wife, Anushka Sharma. Reports suggest that Kohli is currently in England and was recently spotted at a restaurant, enjoying quality time with his daughter Vamika.

On February 20th, 2023, the former captain of the Indian cricket team took to social media to share the joyful news that he and his wife, Anushka Sharma, welcomed a baby boy. This announcement put to rest the various speculations surrounding his absence from the cricket field, as he had been away due to personal reasons. In the post, he disclosed that they named their son Akaay and kindly asked for privacy during this special time.

A heartwarming image of the 35-year-old cricketer and his daughter has been making rounds on social media. In the viral picture, Kohli is sporting a cap, while Vamika is bundled up in a sweater to stay warm in the London winter. The father-daughter duo is captured savoring a meal together.

Since the birth of his first child in January 2021, Kohli has been placing a high priority on his family, often taking breaks to cherish moments with his loved ones. He notably missed the final three Tests of the BGT Australia series in 2020-21 to be present for Vamika’s birth. Furthermore, he opted out of the ongoing series against England to be with his family during the birth of his baby boy.

Despite being away from the field, Kohli extended his congratulations to the team for securing an unbeatable 3-1 lead in the five-match series against England with a five-wicket victory in Ranchi. The former captain commended the young players for their resilience and determination in the absence of several senior team members.
