Jason Holder, the West Indies all-rounder, is anticipated to fetch an impressive price in the upcoming IPL 2024 auction planned to unfold in Dubai. The mini-auction for the Indian Premier League is planned for December 19th.
For the very first time in history, the IPL Auction is set to take place outside the borders of India. In the previous 2023 season, Jason Holder was donning the colors of the Rajasthan Royals, but as of November 26th, the franchise decided to part ways with the talented all-rounder.
Expressing his keen interest in the Indian Premier League, Jason Holder has his sights set on either Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) or Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the upcoming season. Reflecting on his IPL journey, Holder shared that he had some great experiences with both Sunrisers and Chennai. Notably, he was a part of CSK back in IPL 2013 and later played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014, 2020, and 2021.
Jason Holder said, “I have had a good time with Sunrisers (Hyderabad) and Chennai (Super Kings) as well. One of those two teams would be nice to go back to but it is not in my hands.”
“The T20 cricket you play leading up to a World Cup is always beneficial. The IPL being played before the T20 World Cup would help. It will help the players prepare mentally as well,” he further added.

In his IPL journey, Jason Holder has notched up 46 games, managing to accumulate 259 runs and snagging 53 wickets. His cricketing ventures have seen him don the colors of five diverse IPL teams. These include Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants, and Rajasthan Royals.
The IPL 2024 season will pave the way for the much-anticipated T20 World Cup 2024, because it is set to begin shortly after the IPL tournament. The West Indies and the USA are teaming forces to co-host this exciting tournament in June 2024, marking a momentous occasion as 20 sides gear up for participation — a first in ICC event history. In a recent regional qualifier showdown, Namibia and Uganda clinched their tickets, adding to the global field.
Notably, England presently holds the title for the ICC T20 World Cup, clinching victory against Pakistan in the 2022 edition’s final.
