The Indian team finished the 3-match ODI series 2-1 against West Indies. Hardik Pandya, the stand-in skipper for the Indian team in the last ODI was not really happy with the West Indies management. He expressed his disappointment during the post-match presentation regarding the basic things that could have been handled in a better way.
India’s stand-in captain, Hardik Pandya, voiced his criticism towards the West Indies Cricket for their failure to make basic arrangements for the visiting team. Despite India’s convincing 200-run victory over the West Indies in the third and final ODI on August 1, which allowed them to clinch the series 2-1, Hardik didn’t shy away from expressing his concerns.
During the post-match presentation ceremony, commentator Daren Ganga asked Hardik about the facilities at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, where the match was held for the first time. Hardik responded positively about the stadium, describing it as “one of the nicest grounds we have played.”
However, he didn’t hesitate to express his dissatisfaction with the travel plans and other arrangements made by the Windies cricket body. Hardik’s remarks served as a call for the West Indies cricket authorities to take note of the issues faced by the visiting Indian team, indicating that there were areas for improvement to ensure a more comfortable and accommodating experience for touring teams in the future.
“This was one of the nicest grounds we have played. Things can be better when we come to West Indies next time. From travelling to managing a lot of things. Last year also, some hiccups happened. I think it’s time for West Indies Cricket to take note of it and make sure that when a team travels… We don’t ask for luxury but we need some basic necessities taken care of. Other than that, really enjoyed coming here and playing some good cricket,” Hardik said during the post-match presentation.
Hardik Pandya On Series Win:
“It’s a special win. To be honest, I look forward to these kinds of games as a captain where there is something on the line. This was more than an international game. We knew what was at stake and there would be a lot of disappointment if we lost. The boys showed great character. They enjoyed it as well, in pressure situations it’s important to enjoy it as well. You don’t become a hero without handling pressure,” he further added.
