West Indies defeated India in the second T20I match of the 5-match series and lead the series 2-0. Indian cricket fans were not happy with the performance shown by the Indian team.
In the exciting cricket match, India decided to bat first and managed to score 152 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Unfortunately, the visitors didn’t start well as they lost Shubman Gill (7) and Suryakumar Yadav (1) early in the innings. However, Tilak Varma’s impressive performance with 51 runs off 41 balls stabilized India’s batting. Later, Hardik Pandya (24 off 18) and Axar Patel (14 off 12) added some quick runs, and towards the end, Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh provided a late surge to take India’s total beyond 150 runs.
In pursuit of the target, the West Indies faced a challenging task as India’s captain, Hardik Pandya, bowled brilliantly to dismiss Brandon King and Johnson Charles early. Nevertheless, Nicholas Pooran’s outstanding display with the bat, scoring 67 runs off just 40 balls, kept the hosts in the game. However, when Pooran got out, the West Indies encountered a significant setback, losing four wickets in just two runs.
With the match hanging in the balance, the West Indies pinned their hopes on the lower-order batsmen to lead them to victory, and Alzarri Joseph and Akeal Hosein rose to the occasion. Their partnership of 26 runs for the 9th wicket secured a dramatic and thrilling win for the Caribbean side.
