Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper while interacting with the reporters in a media interaction gave a witty reply to a question asked by a reporter.
The cricket rivalry between India and Pakistan is timeless. Over the years, both teams have showcased an abundance of skilled players in their lineups. Yet, a standout rivalry has emerged, one that places numerous Pakistani bowlers against Indian batsmen.
Legends like Shoaib Akhtar and Wasim Akram, among others, left an indelible mark on world cricket during their era. Presently, players such as Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf are carrying the torch forward, continuing the tradition of formidable Pakistan bowlers. Given Pakistan’s impressive array of bowling talents, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was recently queried in a media interaction about the most challenging Pakistani bowler to face.
Rohit Sharma, however, offered a playfully elusive response. When asked to name the toughest Pakistani bowler to confront, he artfully sidestepped the question. Rohit expressed that all Pakistani players are highly skilled, and he hesitated to single out a specific name to avoid sparking any controversies. This response sparked laughter, with his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, joining in the amusement along with the others present.
“Sab acche bowlers hain. Main kisi ka naam nahi lunga, bahut bada bada controversy hota hain naam lia to (All are good bowlers. I won’t take anyone’s name. It will give rise to controversies if I take names),” Rohit Sharma was quoted as saying by India Today.
Notably, it’s important to highlight that Rohit Sharma is currently not a part of India’s ongoing T20I series against the West Indies. While he was part of the Test and ODI matches, the 36-year-old cricketer has been given a well-deserved rest for the ongoing five-game T20I series.
Anticipation surrounds Rohit’s forthcoming return to the Indian team for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, which is scheduled to kick off on August 30. Presently, the Indian team is facing challenges in their encounters against the West Indies, as they have suffered defeats in the initial two T20Is of the series. Nevertheless, the team is determined to elevate their performance in the upcoming matches, aiming to stage a strong comeback.
