With the Asia Cup 2023 on the horizon, excitement is reaching a feverish height, especially for the much-anticipated encounter between India and Pakistan. Adding to the anticipation, Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of the Indian team and the current president of the BCCI, has offered his prediction for the outcome of the IND versus PAK match slated for September 2nd.
One of the most highly anticipated matches in the group stage of the Asia Cup 2023 is set to take place on September 2nd, as arch-rivals India and Pakistan go head-to-head in an intense clash on the cricket field. Addressing the media in Kolkata regarding his insights into the outcome of the India vs Pakistan match, Sourav Ganguly shared his predictions about the potential winner, he said, “It is very difficult for me to choose a favorite. They are both good teams. Pakistan is a good team and of course, India is a very good team.”
“There are no favorites, whoever plays well will win the game,” said Ganguly on the upcoming India vs Pakistan clash, set to take place on 2nd September at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
Jasprit Bumrah has made a victorious comeback to the international cricket scene. He played a crucial part in guiding the Men in Blue to a well-deserved 2-0 series triumph against Ireland. With this tremendous achievement under his belt, Bumrah is all prepared to return back to India. His next destination is the National Cricket Academy, where he’ll be joining his fellow teammates in the preparatory camp for the highly anticipated Asia Cup 2023.
After an absence lasting nearly 11 months, Bumrah is set to make a comeback to the team’s lineup, taking up the lead role in India’s fast bowling attack for the Asia Cup. “Bumrah was good in Ireland and it is a very good thing. He started his stint with T20Is and now in ODIs, he will have to bowl 10 overs. So with time, his fitness will get better,” said Ganguly.
When questioned about Yuzvendra Chahal’s exclusion from the Asia Cup, the former India skipper added, “You can only have three spinners and I think they have done the right thing by picking Axar (Patel) because he can bat.”
