Ashleigh Gardner, Australian women’s all-rounder, has achieved her career-best ranking in all three formats of the latest ICC ranking.
Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner has shown impressive progress in the recent update of the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings, following her team’s successful 2-0 ODI series win over Ireland in Dublin.
The first match was affected by rain, but Australia comfortably defeated their hosts in the remaining two games, with Gardner playing a crucial role alongside Annabel Sutherland and Phoebe Litchfield, who both scored centuries.
Gardner’s outstanding performances have earned her career-best rankings in all three categories. Her batting ranking jumped five spots, moving her from 21st to 16th with an impressive 579 rating points, thanks to her quick-fire 65 from just 39 deliveries in the second match.
Additionally, she reached a personal best fourth place in the bowlers’ list, securing 673 points after her exceptional three-wicket haul for 38 runs in the third fixture.
Finally, Gardner achieved her best-ever ranking of number two in the all-rounders’ list, amassing 389 points, an improvement from her previous fourth-place position. The all-rounders’ list continues to be topped by England’s Natalie Sciver-Brunt, who also maintains her stronghold over the top batting position.
Gardner’s teammates, Sutherland and Litchfield, also made remarkable strides in the rankings. Both players smashed a century each in their team’s dominant 10-wicket victory in the third match.
Sutherland rose 13 slots to a career-best 36th position with 418 points, while Litchfield climbed 22 places to 51st with 357 points.
Furthermore, Ellyse Perry’s impressive knock of 91 runs off 99 balls helped her climb to the eighth position among batters, advancing from her previous seventh spot, with 686 rating points.
Georgia Wareham also had a commendable performance, achieving her personal best rankings in the batters’ list, moving from 80th to 66th, and in the all-rounders’ list, advancing from 30th to 22nd.
She also climbed four places in the bowlers’ list, currently sitting at 25th, just five spots away from her best position at 20th.
