Prithvi Shaw, who used to be considered as the next big cricketer in the Indian Cricket Team has come to a stage of monotonous downfall over the last few years.
A Batsman like Prithvi Shaw, who has already registered a record of hitting a Test century at the youngest age of just 18 years, had something in his skills which led to all other experts calling him the next big thing for the Indian Cricket Team. But unfortunately, luck didn’t favor this young man, he got dropped once from the Team and never got picked up again ever since then. Considering his past record of Injuries, controversies, and technical faults like circumstances which never made an easy chance to make a comeback for this young batsman.
Prithvi never had a long run in any format of the game. He has played 5 Tests, 6 ODIs, and a single T20I match. Time has not been running any good for Shaw, after being out from the Indian side, he was last seen playing the T20I series against NZ in the home series however he didn’t get any game to play. He was also not picked up for the away West Indies tour and the latest edition of the Asian games. It seems like Prithvi is disappearing from the selectors’ eyes.
Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw who is currently at a pivotal stage of his career has opened up after getting dropped from the Indian Cricket Team. He said he didn’t know the reason why he was being dropped from the T20 side without getting a single game to play.
Moreover, He said:
“When I was dropped, I didn’t get to know the reason. Someone was saying it could be fitness. But of course, I came here (in Bengaluru) and cleared all the tests at the NCA, again scored runs, and again came back to the T20 team. But again didn’t get a chance in the West Indies. I’m disappointed but you just have to move forward. I can’t do anything, I can’t fight with anyone,”
Further, he opened up on the mental struggles that he has been going through in recent times as he doesn’t have a lot of friends to share his kinds of stuff. Adding to his point he elaborated on things he had faced recently and said,
“As a person, I just like to be in my own zone. People say a lot of things about me. But those who know me, know how I am. I don’t have friends, I don’t like to make friends. This is what’s happening with this generation. You can’t even share your thoughts with anyone else. If you ask me personally, it’s very scary. Darr lagta hai aajkal to share my thoughts. Agle din social media mein aa jaata hai(I’m scared to share my thoughts. Somehow all of it comes up on social media). I’ve very less friends, only a couple of friends, and even with them I don’t share everything, only a few things”
